Muhammad al-Bukhari, born on 21 July 810, 13 Shawwal 194 AH is known for his works in hadith compilations. He was a ninth century Muslim muhaddith who is generally viewed as the main hadith scholar throughout the entire existence of Sunni Islam. Al-Bukhari's works incorporate the hadith compilation of Sahih al-Bukhari, al-Tarikh al-Kabir, and al-Adab al-Mufrad.
Brought into the world in Bukhara in present-day Uzbekistan, Al-Bukhari started learning hadith quite early in his life. He traversed the Abbasid Caliphate and learned under a few compelling contemporary scholars. Bukhari remembered 1000s of hadith narrations, compiling the Sahih al-Bukhari in 846. He spent the remainder of his life showing the hadith he had gathered.
