Earning a decent living is a universal goal, and Pakistan is no exception. New stats from Pakistan's Bureau of Statistics reveal how much laborers earn across the country. The average daily wage is Rs. 1,134, but location matters!
The average wage in Pakistan varies widely based on factors like profession, location, and experience. Skilled workers in urban areas tend to earn more, while unskilled laborers in rural areas may earn less. Construction workers generally earn above average, while garment factory workers often earn below.
According to Statistics, Islamabad and Rawalpindi boast the highest pay at Rs. 1,500 daily, followed by Quetta at Rs. 1,441. Cities like Gujranwala and Faisalabad offer Rs. 1,200 a day, while Peshawar and Bannu come in at Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 900, respectively. Larkana has the lowest average, with daily wages around Rs. 800.
The report also breaks down wages by profession. Painters earn an average of Rs. 1,601 daily, plumbers get slightly more at Rs. 1,659, and masons top the list at Rs. 1,831.
These figures show the big differences in pay across Pakistan. While some cities and skilled workers bring in more, others face challenges making ends meet. Finding a way to ensure fair wages for all Pakistani laborers remains a key issue.
