Abbasid Caliphate was the golden era of Islamic History

Abbasid Caliphate ruled from 750 to 1258, capital was Baghdad, population was 50 million and area covered by them was 10 million km².

The Abbasids were the third out of four Islamic caliphates. The time of Abbasid is named as the Golden Era of Islam because of advances in science, writing, medication, and philosophy. The caliphate was at last abrogated when Mongols under Halagu Khan caught and terminated Baghdad in 1258.
