The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to reappoint Babar Azam as the T20 Captain following the proposal from the newly formed selection committee to change the captain.
Sources reveal that Babar will continue his job as captain during the impending five-match T20 series against New Zealand.
Beforehand, during Zaka Ashraf's tenure, Shaheen Shah Afridi was designated as the T20 captain after the team's poor performance in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, while Shan Masood was given the test captaincy by the earlier administration.
Babar had beforehand resigned the captaincy across all formats in November last year, finishing up his extended tenure in the captaincy position, following a frustrating World Cup campaign.
