A spearheading strategy has been created to digitalize the Rawalpindi's transport system, denoting a first digital transport system in Pakistan. The PITB - Punjab Information Technology Board will make the software for this digital transport system, which will incorporate a control room and an e-tag system at the Pirwadhai Bus Terminal.
This framework will accumulate complete information on vehicles at the terminal, for example, owner's details, registration numbers, route information, and fitness certificate of vehicles. It intends to improve passenger and road safety by guaranteeing vehicles that satisfy standards of safety that are permitted to work.
