Pakistan's FDI - Foreign Direct Investment expanded by 17% to $1.9 billion in the FY 2024, as per the most recent figures from the State Bank of Pakistan.
This increment from the earlier year's $1.62 billion comes notwithstanding the nation having one of the lowest FDI sums in developing economies.
The SBP information shows that June alone represented $168.7 million of the FDI, an improvement from $122.4 million around the same time the year before.
Chinese investments kept on ruling, contributing $568 million, however this was a decline from $692 million in FY23.
Hong Kong followed as the second-biggest investor, expanding its FDI to $358.5 million from $250 million last year.
Other prominent investments included $268 million from the UK, $137 million from the USA, and $100 million from Singapore.
According to sector, the power sector got the most foreign investment, in spite of the fact that it diminished marginally to $799.9 million from $898.5 million in FY23.
