Well known Islamic scholars and religious pioneer from various school of thought have rejected the court's decision, condemning Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi to 7 years of detainment over an un-Islamic marriage.
Scholars have named the court's ruling against the laws of Shariah and the teachings of the holy Quran.
"Only a woman has the information on when her iddat ends. In the event that she makes a vow, you need to take her words in Shariah. This verdict is against Shariah," said Mufti Abdur Rehman Abid.
