In 1962, Waheed-ud-Din Ansari made Ghilaf-e-Kaaba in Karachi

Pakistan had the honor for making the holy cover of the Kaaba at Karachi in 1962, denoting a huge moment in Pakistan's history.

As per the report, in 1962, a Saudi delegation visited different workshops in Pakistan and endowed Karachi's, Waheed-ud-Din Ansari, proprietor of a fabric store in the Saddar with this sacred task.

The Saudi authorities were intrigued with the sample arranged by Ansari's silk house. The authorities approved Waheed-ud-Din and his team to design the Kiswa. Under Ansari's supervision, 34 workers worked perseveringly for a 3 months to make the Ghilaf-e-Kaaba, "kiswa".

The holy cover was additionally shown to large number of people at Polo Ground, Karachi, prior to being sent back to Saudi Arabia.
