Alchemy was changed over into Chemistry by Muslim scientist, Jabir ibn Hayyan. He created a significant number of the fundamental methods and gear still being used today like evaporation, distillation, crystallization, filtration, purification, and oxidization.
He found sulphuric and nitric acid as well as concocting the alembic still, for the production of fragrances and alcoholic spirits.
