The PTA - Pakistan Telecommunication Authority is utilizing the WMS - Web Monitoring System to block online sites and applications in Pakistan, as per a new divulgence to the NA - National Assembly of Pakistan.
As per a media report, the minister accountable for the cabinet division, which regulates the PTA, gave subtleties of the system's use in a composed response on August 26.
"Online unlawful content" can be blocked by PTA as per the Section 37 of the PECA - Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 of Pakistan.
The minister affirmed that the WMS is utilized for "online content administration" and uncovered that the PTA has blocked 469 applications, including 435 Android and 34 Apple applications, connected with different categories.
