Punjab willing to introduce E-Bikes, Rickshaw under ''Green Wheels Programme''

As Punjab faces serious air pollution, the caretaker government intends to bring 26,000 electric vehicles into city traffic. The 'Green Wheels Programme' expects to give electric bikes and rickshaw to student, low-income people, women, and individuals with disabilities.

The drive centers around diminishing pollution from transportation, which adds to 70-80% of the issue. The Minister for Transport, Ibrahim Hasan Murad, shared that 10,000 E-Bikes will go to university students, and interest free E-Bikes and E-Rickshaws will be given to women and deserving people.

This work is a critical step toward a cleaner and greener future for Punjab, with major cities assigned as electric vehicle models.
