A resolution started by former Pakistan People's Party (PPP) member Senator Bahramand Khan Tangi, asking for the restriction of significant social media platforms, had been brought to the Senate plan for the March 4 meeting.
In the resolution, Senator Tangi desired a prohibition on major social media platforms including Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, X (Twitter), and YouTube, refering to the need to safeguard the younger generation from their unfavorable and destructive effects.
Now, the Senator has decided to withdraw his resolution after the pressure from the public.
