Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has reported that the nikkah or marriage agreements can now be led at Islam's two holiest places - Masjid al Haram in Makkah and the Masjid e Nabwi in Madinah.
The move is important for the Saudi government's drive to advance the experiences of pilgrim and visitors to the Two Holy Masjid. Observers say the drive is a chance for organizations to think of inventive plans to coordinate such occasions at the sacred destinations.
One Saudi mazoun, or marriage official, Musaed Al-Jabri described that leading a marriage contract at the Masjid E Nabwi is permitted in Islam, taking note of that the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) is known to have directed a companion's marital ceremony at Masjid.
