The Chinese textile organization RUYI Shandong and Board of Investment signed a MOU - Memorandum of Understanding to build textile parks following international standards in Pakistan.
This drive expects to support the country's textile exports to $5 billion and make around 500,000 job opportunities. The MoU was endorsed during a gathering between a RUYI Group delegation, led by Chariman Qiu Yafu, and Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif.
The textile parks, set to be constructed in Sindh and Punjab, will have around 100 Chinese textile firms in the park and will use solar energy, directing towards zero-carbon and automated facilities. Development is supposed to start by year end, with completion expected in three years.
