The Banu Shayba family are the guardians of the keys to the Holy Ka’aba. They are in charge of opening, closing, and washing the Ka’aba. They have been entrusted with this job since the time of Hazrat Muhammad (SAW).
Banu Shayba are descendants of Uthman ibn Talha (RA). On the Day of Conquest of Makkah, Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) gave him the keys to the Kaaba and said, 'Take it, O family of Talha until the Day of Resurrection.'
