Pakistan Telecom Sector Revenue increased by 17%

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) imparted to the Prime Minister that regardless of difficulties, the telecom business in 2023 gained critical headway. The Chairman of PTA, Maj General (R) Hafeez ur Rehman, introduced the Yearly Report for 2023 to the Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar.

However, industry analysts note a reduction in the telecom sector's revenue for foreign investors from $4.84 billion of 2018 to $3.03 billion in 2023. The industry faces difficulties like high business costs, expanded corporate income tax, and other financial issues.

The report features that the telecom sector created Rs850 billion in revenue in FY 2022-23, showing a growth of 17%. Cell mobile services are accessible to 90% of Pakistanis, and there are 192 million telecom subscribers with 130 million broadband clients.
